Michael is the co-founder and Chief Investment Officer at AgFunder, a San Francisco based online investment platform for global agriculture and food technology. Michael has over 20 years of legal, business management and project development experience. He leads the AgFunder investment team and oversees all deal identification, origination and execution on the AgFunder platform. A seasoned agriculture investor and operator, prior to starting AgFunder, Michael founded and operated SeedRock Africa Agriculture, an African agribusiness.

Sam has worked in agriculture for over 15 years throughout various parts of the value chain, his current role sees him oversee SproutX and Agri Innovation for one of Australia’s largest professional services companies, Findex. SproutX is the industry accelerator for Australian agriculture, a series of commercialisation programs for entrepreneurs and startups to access support, mentors and capital.

Knewe Biosystems is developing an animal prebiotics product. This prebiotic meets critical mineral nutrition needs, enhancing the welfare of the animal, and also reduce the volume of waste to the environment, both because they cause animals to use their feed more efficiently, and because they are made from fermentation byproducts that otherwise cause environmental issues during disposal.

Australian Functional Foods has developed a novel fruit processing technology and make a great tasting, creamy cherry juice. The processing approach makes the most of the precious anthocyanins (a class of antioxidants) from the source: fresh Australian sweet cherries.
BRUSHWOODS are broad-acre farmers in the Riverina and are about to embark on taking their oats from paddock to plate. Having tasted raw and freshly rolled whole-grain oats, they see a need to share the flavour (and nutrition) with every baker, maker and shaker in NSW.
